K9 Unit

The K9 Unit is a vital component of our law enforcement team, providing specialized support in a variety of operations through the use of highly trained police dogs and their handlers. These canine teams are skilled in areas such as narcotics detection, tracking suspects or missing persons, evidence recovery, and officer protection.

Each K9 team undergoes rigorous training to ensure peak performance in high-pressure situations. The strong bond between handler and dog allows for seamless communication and effective teamwork in the field.

Key responsibilities of the K9 Unit include:

  • Drug Detection: Locating illegal substances in vehicles, buildings, and open areas.
  • Search and Rescue: Tracking missing persons or fleeing suspects over various terrains.
  • Criminal Apprehension: Assisting in the safe apprehension of dangerous individuals.
  • Public Demonstrations: Engaging with the community through educational events and demonstrations to promote safety and awareness.

Our K9 Unit enhances the safety and effectiveness of our department, serving as a force multiplier in both routine patrol and critical incidents.
