Message From The Sheriff
911 Tax Update
Thank You, Maries County
On behalf of the Maries County Sheriff's Office and our 911 Communications team, I want to extend a sincere thank you to the citizens of Maries County for your support in passing the 911 sales tax measure.
This was more than just a vote - it was a clear statement that you believe in investing in the safety, stability, and future of our community. This funding will allow us to create a dedicated, professional 911 communications center, upgrade critical equipment, and ensure the fastest and most reliable emergency response for those who call for help.
I know there were small groups attempting to spread misinformation and create confusion about what establishing a proper 911 center means, but your trust and dedication to public safety prevailed. For that, I am truly grateful.
Throughout my years serving first as a Maries County Deputy and now as your elected Sheriff, I have been repeatedly told that Maries County would never have a dedicated 911 center - that we would always have to rely on jailers and dispatchers being double-tasked. Yesterday, Maries County did what so many people said we could never do.
Your voice made this possible. Your vote made this possible.
So once again, thank you.
Thank you for believing in this county.
Thank you for believing in public safety.
And thank you for believing in each other
.
We move forward together.
Stronger. Safer. Proud.
Sheriff Mark Morgan
