Gift Card Scam

There are individuals in the county who have been contacted by scammers posing to be law enforcement, some have even identified themselves as a Maries County Sheriff's Sergeant.
They are claiming you have a warrant and want you to purchase gift or debit cards, then send them the UPC codes on the back to "take care of the warrant".
No legit business or reverent entity will ever have you go purchase gift cards and give the codes over the phone. When in doubt, always call law enforcement first to make sure of a potential scam.
