Vehicle Pursuit Concludes in Maries County

Date Posted: 09/15/2025

Earlier today, a vehicle pursuit that originated out of Jefferson City ended in Maries County just north of Vienna.

The Maries County Communication Center was notified that the pursuit was heading toward our jurisdiction on Highway 63. Our dispatchers promptly alerted Maries County Deputies and requested assistance from the Vienna Police Department.

As the suspect vehicle entered Maries County and neared the city limits of Vienna, the suspect swerved and lost control of the vehicle, striking two stationary vehicles on the northbound side of Highway 63. The suspect and one other motorist were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

While the incident was unfolding, Maries County dispatchers coordinated the response of law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel, and requested air medical support to ensure resources were in place for the injured. Their quick actions and communication were critical in managing the event and providing timely aid.

The Maries County Sheriff's Office filed a probable cause statement with the Maries County Prosecuting Attorney requesting charges pursuant to Missouri Revised Statutes §575.151 (Resisting or Interfering with Arrest, Detention, or Stop), alleging the offense of Aggravated Fleeing, a Class D Felony. Additional charges may be pending from the initiating agency.

We want to thank the Vienna Police Department, our first responders, and especially our Communication Center staff for their professionalism and dedication during this incident.
